Attorney Profile

Andrew T. Forward was born and raised in Oakes, North Dakota. He graduated from Oakes High School in 1997.  He obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and Business Administration from Jamestown College in 2001 (summa cum laude), and his Juris Doctor degree (with distinction) from the University of North Dakota School of Law in 2007.  He was admitted to the North Dakota Bar in 2007 and the Minnesota Bar in 2009.

After law school, Mr. Forward was a law clerk to the Honorable Dale V. Sandstrom of the North Dakota Supreme Court.  Following his clerkship, Mr. Forward practiced for a year in Oakes, ND. Before joining Olson & Burns, he was employed as a full-time temporary staff attorney for the North Dakota Supreme Court’s Joint Procedure Committee.

Mr. Forward is a member of the State Bar Association of North Dakota, the Minnesota State Bar Association, the Big Muddy Bar Association, and the Bruce M. Van Sickle American Inn of Court.

Mr. Forward has a general practice, but is primarily engaged in practice in the areas of real estate, banking, oil and gas, contracts, and business entities.

Andy enjoys golfing, reading, traveling, UND hockey, and the Minnesota Twins and Vikings.  He is married to Maggie Olson, who is an Assistant Attorney General in the North Dakota Attorney General’s Office.
